The Minor Sabbats

The minor sabbats are celebrated on the cross quartes of the year. The Equinoxes and Solstices. The Equinoxs represent the balance of light and dark and Solstices are repestivly the longest and shortest day of the year. While these are not fixed days on the calendar it has become common to celebrate the holidays on the 20 or 21 of the their month. 

Ostara

The spring equinox. Celebrated on the 20 or 21 of March. 

Litha

Also called midsummer. Celebrated on the Summer solstice falling on June 20 or 21. 

Mabon

Second harvest festival. Celebrated on the Autum Equinox. 

Yule

The date varies from December 20 to December 23 depending on the year in the Gregorian calendar.  Yule is also known as the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere and the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere due to the seasonal differences.
